Kottakkal Dadimadi Ghritam is a herbal ghee-based Ayurvedic medicine. Ghee serves as the foundation for this medication. It serves both as medicine and a pre-Panchakarma therapy. Dadimadi is the Arabic word for pomegranate. Pomegranate is the principal component of this treatment, and Ayurveda describes its advantages in great detail. It is also referred to as Dasdimadi Ghrit, Dadimadi Ghritam, Dadimadi Ghritham, etc.
Kottakkal Dadimadi Ghritam benefits:-
- It is widely used as medicine and also in preparatory procedures called snehakarma for the treatment of heart diseases, anemia, piles, spleen diseases, cough, and asthma. Good for all vayu ailments in the abdomen.
- It is also used in the treatment of infertility in women.
- In pregnant mothers, it is given to improve the chances and ease of normal delivery.

Dadimadi Ghrita dosage:-
- As medicine – quarter to a half teaspoon with water, usually before food, once or twice a day, or as directed by an Ayurvedic doctor.
- For Panchakarma preparation – Snehana procedure, the dose depends on the disease status and the judgment of the Ayurvedic doctor.
- It is usually administered with warm water.
How long it take?:-
It can be safely taken for a period of 6 – 8 weeks.
Side Effects:-
- There are no known side effects of this medicine. However, it is best to use this product under medical supervision. Self-medication with this medicine is discouraged.
- People with diabetes, high cholesterol, heart diseases, and high BP should exercise precautions.
- In very high doses, it may cause diarrhoea and indigestion.
Principle:-
In this herbal ghee, the herbs are infused in the medium of ghee along with herb water decotion. Then the solid waste herb materials are filtered out. Thus, this herbal ghee contains oil soluble and water soluble phytoactive principles of medicinal herbs.
